Alzheimer’s Tennessee, Inc. was founded in 1983 by a small group of East Tennessee families. Today the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is still governed by a local Board of Directors and advocates for top research initiatives and provides services to the more than 22,000 individuals and families facing Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in East Tennessee and the Cumberlands. Alzheimer’s Tennessee, Inc. provides family support, community and professional education and advocates for the needs and rights of those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as research for its prevention, cure, and treatment.




The Tennessee Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-TN) represents 1,800 professional social workers and social work students across the state. The association promotes, develops and protects the practice of social work and social workers. NASW also seeks to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through its work and advocacy.

The Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services (TALS) is a statewide non-profit organization that seeks to build partnerships to support the delivery of effective civil legal services for low-income and elderly Tennesseans. The goal of TALS is to increase financial and advocacy support for Tennessee’s civil legal services programs.

The Tennessee Association of Adult Day Services (TAADS) acts as a planning, researching, and training body for adult day services across the state of Tennessee. We provide a forum for the exchange of information and services of adult day services. In addition, we promote the concept of adult day services as a viable community-based option for adults who need assistance in supervising their own activities. We also educate the public and policy makers about the needs of adults in the area of adult day services, adult day treatment, as well as other supportive services.


Tennessee Conservation Voters (TCV) is a coalition of 20 Tennessee environmental, conservation, and preservation groups and hundreds of individuals dedicated to electing environmentally responsible state officials and holding them accountable for safeguarding the environment of Tennessee through the making of prudent laws and policies.
